As part of my degree I have an Object Oriented Methods module which revolves around applying UML to a system description. Unfortunately I don't appreciate the teaching style of my lecturer so I felt the need to buy this to bridge the gaps in his teaching, and I'm so glad I did.
O'Reilly books are great - their formulaic design makes each one incredibly easy to read; Miles and Hamilton provide a great resource for applying UML modeling principles and explain WHY you should do things incredibly well. I haven't finished the whole book (as I think it covers way more than my course entails) but I'm sure I will find use for it in the future.
Great book and saved my ass!
