"The Bodyguard" is the first book I've read by Ms. French and since finishing it, I've ordered her others to read, as well. I was happy to read the author's note that this is the first in The Bodyguard series. And what a great introduction! Natasha is feisty and impulsive, a woman who will do anything to protect those near to her. Her boss, Striker, is a real he-man, sexy and mysterious. Roger is sweet and naive. Pit and Bigun are perfect partners for Natasha. Stevie, Natasha's mom, is undergoing a perimenopausal crisis, and the transformation that takes place with her is funny to the extreme.
I loved this book and the characters. The dialogue is witty, humorous, and Southern. The characters are perfectly balanced against one another. The plot is exceptional. The mystery killer wannabe had me fooled to the end. If I could rate this higher than 5 stars, I would.
Any Evanovich or Grafton fan will love this new author. Great job. I'm hooked!

Natasha Chamberlain is an organized office manager who dreams of becoming an investigator for her firm. Given the opportunity to act as bodyguard to multimillionaire Roger Valentine while posing as his girlfriend, she takes the job hoping it will be a stepping stone into the investigative department. But take Natasha out of the office and she becomes a totally different person: a woman ready to take on the world to protect her man. Her bungling antics grate on her boss Jonce Striker's nerves, although he is highly attracted to Natasha and does not suspect she has a secret passion for him.
This is a great beginning to The Bodyguard series. The characters are quirky, especially the tag-team duo bodyguards Pit and Bigun, the dialogue zany, and the situations Natasha lands her and Roger in are gut-busting funny.
I look forward to reading the next in the series.

Beautifully fresh faced with uninhibited innocence, Natasha wants to shake up the world. Natasha, a.k.a. Nattie and Dudette, is scrambling for excitement and meaning in her life when she is given an opportunity to act as a bodyguard. Since Natasha is not one to pass a problem on, she jumps in with unabashed passion. Natasha is the kind of gal that would play chicken with a guy whose strapping his foot to the gas pedal. She is gutsy and blind to danger. She also turns every setback into an occasion to learn and grow. Natasha does and says what so many of us would love to.
Natasha, in protecting wealthy Roger Valentine, takes on the likes of a "gun toting computer nerd" with creative intuition and gusto while learning the ropes of being a bodyguard. There is a lot of humor with Natasha and many tender spots like the one where she rescues a Weimeraner named Brutus. She is a true humanitarian and the reader finds, when introduced to her mother, that Nattie is an acorn that didn't fall far from the tree.
The Bodyguard is a four dimensional captivating suspense luring the reader to believe they have solved the case. The author, writing in a lightening bolt style of energy, shocks the reader with a striking surprising twist. This is definitely a story filled with chuckles, tears, true to life details and a must know what happens next story line.
The Bodyguard is the fourth offering and the first series by talented author Christy Tillery French. The book is written in a seductively enchanting and charming style woven with a blend of humor and delicacy which makes it a "must read".

Natasha Chamberlain, aka Dudette, Nat or Nattie, is one tough cookie. A young woman who stumbles into the bodyguard field and takes to it like chocolate to milk. Natasha can't stay out of trouble as she tries to protect multimillionaire computer-whiz Roger Valentine. At the same time, she's dealing with a menopausal mom, taking on an animal abuser, and being shot at while trying not to let her boss, Jonce Striker, know she's got the hots for him big-time.
This book is a fun one. I hope the second one hits the stands soon - I'm anxious to see what the Dudette's up to next.

Natasha Chamberlain enters the bodyguard field only because Scott Thomas, her firm's managing partner, offers her a chance at promotion toinvestigator if she takes the job. Roger Valentine, computer genius andmultimillionaire, has been threatened with death if he doesn't turn overone million dollars to an extortionist. Scott neglects to tell Natashathat she is being hired as a hodyguard for one night, to accompany Rogerto a banquet given in his honor. When Natasha finds this out, shestrongarms Roger into hiring her as bodyguard during the investigationinto who's threatening him. And that's when the fun begins.
Natasha likes to tote guns and play soccer. A woman dealing with a pasttrauma, she is ready to take on the world and protect those who cannotprotect themselves. The chapter with the dog was great!
I loved this book - it reads at a fast pace, with so much comedic action,it'll make your head spin. You'll laugh plenty with "The Bodyguard".

I have read and enjoyed all of Ms. Evanovich's books and she is truly one of my favorite writer's BUT she has nothing on this new writer! If you are a reader of JE's books and love her style in writing then you owe it to yourself to discover writer's who are just as talented and so my friends, I give you Christy French. The writer of the hour! Give her stories a try and I have little doubt you will fall in love with her (as a writer) too! Her stories have it all; humor and romance wrapped tightly in a great mystery. The characters are great and the storyline will keep you contentedly flipping the pages!

This first book in The Bodyguard series has Natasha making dumb mistakes in her ambition to prove to her boss that she can do more than office work and that she deserves a promotion to investigator. Her immaturity allows her to grow as a character in the later books in the series. This story is intense, thrilling, romantic and funny which keeps the reader turning pages. You can't help but care about her.
