A short resume of the period leading up to the collapse of the Soviet Union. Sketches in most of the salient facts and puts forward the major theories of why it collapsed when it did. The author's own view (It was Yeltsin wot dun it) is clearly laid out but there is plenty of room for the reader to draw his own conclusions. Recommended for A level/Undergraduate students or anyone interested in this major turning point in world history.
