This review is from: How to Teach Pronuncation (Paperback)
This book is well worth the money. It is very clearly written and is an enjoyable and informative read. The chapters are broken down into vowels, consonants, intonation which keeps it in manageable chunks. What is more, there are plenty of classroom activities suggested in this book for the trainee teacher to go on. The accompanying CD is useful to play in the classroom for students to get their tongues around the phonetics. As I have a Scottish accent, it is difficult for me to hear the difference between 'fool' and 'full' but the students need to know this. Overall, very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful for the TESOL teacher...., 25 July 2011

This review is from: How to Teach Pronuncation (Paperback)
I bought this when I first learned to teach and found it invaluable, particularly the detail regarding the difficulties different nationalities have with specific areas of pronunciation. I lost it recently and have realised that it's hard to manage without - it's arranged so sensibly and is so accessible and useful for all levels of learner. Pronunciation is something so many students want to master and yet it's the poor relation of TESOL - this book helps to give the teacher confidence in teaching this often-neglected area. An important addition to your resource library.

This review is from: How to Teach Pronuncation (Paperback)
I have chosen this book to complement the Sounds of Foundation, which I haven't read yet,but I'm sure is really great.
I liked the CD and all explanations throughout the lessons. Some of them are quite intensive, so you have to analysis carefully and practise.
Yes, I recommend this book ,if you are keen to take seriously teaching pronunciation.
