4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and thorough introduction in Quantum Mechanics
This text book is an excellent and thorough undergraduate introduction in Quantum Mechanics. It is well written and contains a lot of examples. The mathematics is sometimes at a high level but never too abstract.
The second edition contains even a brief discussion of the Feynman Path Integral formulation, an extra chapter about relativistic QM and extensions in QM...

The cover is coming away at the corner, which is only an aesthetic problem but I specifically bought a new book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and thorough introduction in Quantum Mechanics, 18 Mar 2003
This review is from: Quantum Mechanics (Paperback)
This text book is an excellent and thorough undergraduate introduction in Quantum Mechanics. It is well written and contains a lot of examples. The mathematics is sometimes at a high level but never too abstract.
The second edition contains even a brief discussion of the Feynman Path Integral formulation, an extra chapter about relativistic QM and extensions in QM Interpretation. This makes the introduction complete.
Why not five stars? Because I believe that even an undergraduate book should contain some elements about Hilbert space and the very important spectral theorem. It is a little pity that the authors do not mention these subjects at all.
But apart from this remark, the book is really excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, universal undergraduate text, 29 Dec 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Quantum Mechanics (Paperback)
This text book is the perfect companion for a physics undergraduate for all of their needs of the first three years of their degree. It comprehensively covers all of the necessary material from the basics right through to the more complicated theorems found in finals. In my opinion, it has been one of the most useful books I have used as an undergrad and would certainly be my first port of call for any problems I have in quantum mechanics. The only (very slight) downside is that it uses Dirac notation throughout and I am aware that this is not standard for introductory courses in quantum. Other than that, pretty flawless. And its large enough to lay out any unwelcome guests during the night should you have it to hand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good intoduction to a difficult subject, 31 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Quantum Mechanics (Paperback)
Quantum mechanics can be very difficult subject to learn and it can be made even more so because many of the books out there are not so good.
This book avoids many of the usual pitfalls of other books on quantum. In doing so the authors have produced a solid work that makes a good foundation for learning the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars very useful book, 11 Nov 2011
This review is from: Quantum Mechanics (Paperback)
The book is informative, thorough, and goes through all the necessary steps to give a student such as myself an in-depth understanding of the subject material. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is on a physics course with a quantum mechanics module or anyone who needs/ wants to learn quantum mechanics for any reason.
