The Real Story starts a little light, by the time you get to here in the sequence this is a tale that you just can't put down. Epic, Angus is a brilliantly crafted anti-hero. Fourth time of reading and so pleased to be able to get it on Kindle as the original copies are falling apart.

Donaldson at his very best. I've come back to re- read the novels after a twenty year "gap". Magnificent and engrossing. A dictionary is always needed for the obscure and unusual words that he slots in from time to time to fox the reader. A truly wonderful storyteller.

Struggled with first two books in series but stuck with it because I have read all Donaldsons books like a smoker trying to give up the habit.
Getting to the end of A Dark and Hungry God Arises was like seeing dawn breaking and can't wait for the next book in the series.

Great book but needs to read as part of the whole Gap series. Great continued development of (often difficult) characters and a twisting turning plot that leaves you bewildered (in a good way) at times. Can't wait to read book 4.

I'm enjoying reading it but it's so full of angst and intrigue that it's a bit wearing.
None of the characters are likeable some are downright evil. But it's holding my interest so I'll keep going to the end of the series.

Just as good as the first GAP book, intricate plotting, great characters. Fascinating display of an immense talent for gripping the reader.

A space melodrama - a good read! Recommended - more psychological than SiFi - slow starter but just gets better and better!
