Very good - be mindful of the date of content compiliation and your visit though!
on 19 August 2014
This book was recommended to me by friends who had been to Florida and read a previous version. It contains a wealth of information and is relatively easy to dip in and out of when you just want information around a specific park for example.
However, as the book is compiled around a year before you will probably visit Florida (eg. if you visit during UK summer school hols) it is inevitably out of date. There were considerable changes from the facts in the guide which impacted our stay and would've been good to know about - including the new Disney Magic Bands and how to use the app for fast pass (FP+). There was also a completely new Harry Potter Diagon Alley area in the Universal park which couldn't be referenced as it opened in July 2014. I think the book should be either compiled later in the year or named Brit Guide 2013/14 so the reader is aware there could be factual in accuracies.
The writers clearly know Florida inside out - and love the place / parks - which is great. But it does mean that EVERYTHING is painted in a positive light which isn't always helpful. For example, the Small World ride in the Magic Kingdom was virtually described as a must see. My family (hubby and two boys 9 and 13) were not impressed at all - and I don't think many aged between 5 and 55 would be, especially if they had to wait in line for more than 5 mins. I know opinions are subjective but I would've perhaps liked a more balanced description or something like "thrill seekers and those who love the white knuckle rides might not appreciate..."
That said, the book was certainly helpful to us and I would buy if I visited Florida again. I would just be more mindful of the possible lag in information.
