Another good read by Barbara Kingsolver, great characterisations as per usual showing the hidden depths and humanity of seemingly 'ordinary' people and communities.

Although not the masterpiece that was Lacuna, this eco warrior novel grips tightly. Kingsolver's usual love affair with landscape gives a corny story great edge.

Enjoyed this novel though I found the setting and subject-matter less compelling than some of Kingsolver's earlier novels. My favourite remains Poisonwood Bible.

I couldn't put this book down. Every character is entirely believable, even the toddler! Great story, that could persuade some climate deniers to think again.

I have long been a fan of Barbara Kingsolver but this must rank as one of the best since the Poisonwood Bible.
Excellent mix of science and family saga.

Deals with environmental issues wrapped up in an involving story line primarily focussed on the Monarch butterfly which I have been lucky enough to see.

I have enjoyed every book that I have read by this author. This was no exception. she paints such vivid, real pictures. I did not want the book to end.

Typical American novel, enjoyed the story but felt the conclusion left me hanging.
Lovely character descriptions. Will read more of her books.

Another Kingsolver book that draws you into the story while making you look at your opinions and understanding of modern day life and problems.
