This is my favourite film of all time and to be able to read the script word for word was fascinating. Cary Grant was perfect casting as Roger O. Thornhill although I have read that James Stewart was desperate to play the part but Hitchcock apparently considered that he looked too old. In real life Stewart was actually four years younger than Grant!! Also, the actress Jessie Royce Landis who played Cary Grant's mother was only a few months older than Grant having been born the same year according to the Halliwell Film Guide. Coincidentally, she was in another Hitchcock movie playing Grace Kelly's mother in "To Catch a Thief".
