Whenever I watch a Pinter play on stage, I am driven back to looking at a printed version of the text, to a kind of mental exercise which consists in supplying some of the ideas which the characters don't ever get around to saying. I recently attended 'Old Times' at the Harold Pinter Theatre and have found myself looking again and again at the text to analyse the ways in which the characters avoid communicating with one another for most of the play. There are so many hidden depths in Pinter's work. It's quite a challenge.

Pinter is one of the bestb dramatists of our time. he has captured the languge for all time and is alternately very funny and very disturbing. Readin a play is nothing like seeing it ut it does allow you to go back and study how it works.

Great selection of plays and would recommend for any bookcase. Suitable for teenage reading or university student. Good value with three plays.
