Pat Gallimore's book captures the real essence of the organic movement - people who have made a lifelong commitment to turning the world away from agrichemical destruction and rebuilding a sustainable environment. The insights into the lives, work and conscience of these people is achieved with the lightest touch, interesting'at home' interviews with people who mix business with pleasure and achieve their goals by slowly but surely changing the world through their work and through the shared attitudes of organic customers.

This is a brilliant book, looking at the farmers who grow and develop various organic produce. It is written in a month-to-a-chapter format, with each chapter highlighting a particular sector of the organic industry, IE bakery, dairy, meat etc. It has some excellent tips on growing your own produce and tells you what you should be doing in your garden at each point in the year. This was very interesting to read and helpful in increasing my knowledge of organic food and it's benefit in one's diet.

Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

Lovely to see Rachel Rowlands in the book as she makes absolutely wonderful organic yogurts just down the road from us here in Wales. Anyone tried the newest one with organic Maple Syrup added?
