5.0 out of 5 stars Another great characterisation by John Moffatt...
This radio production was originally broadcast in 2006 and has John Moffatt as M. Poirot and Julia McKenzie as Ariadne Oliver in a lesser known story as far as I am concerned. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not Good
I am quite generous with stars and I was tempted to give it a one.

I did not like it at all and could not believe agatha christie had written it.

It was absolutely appalling and a waste of my time. It dragged for a long while

4.0 out of 5 stars Poirot as ever, 12 April 2013

Enjoyable. Slightly different and how Poirot gets to the conclusion is not altogether clear but if you like these stories this one is worth adding to your collection

This makes for a perfect duo as whenever these 2 characters get together you know there will be red herrings and fun as Ariadne is larger than life. The music composed by Tom Small adds to the overall atmosphere. I was also very pleased to hear a favourite of mine, Alexandra Bastedo playing the role of Zelie and Agatha Christie regular Jill Balcon playing Mrs Rosentelle. The dramatisation is by Michael Bakewell and the play directed by Enyd Williams. The running time of approx 90 minutes allows for a full development of the story and characters and is well worth adding to your collection.

This is one of those rare cases where an adaptation is possibly better than the source material! The excellent BBC radio series continues with this very successful version of one of Christie's last and most troublesome novels. The book is largely a series of rambling discussions with elderly people and there are several holes in the plot and a couple of improbable coincidences. On the plus side it has Mrs Oliver in it and some entertaining characters and the whole thing pivots (amusingly) on wigs! It lends itself very well to radio (and has been 'tidied up' a little but not interfered with) and is well acted here. Julia McKenzie is a delight as Ariadne Oliver, John Moffat is reliable as ever as Poirot and the remaining voices are generally very well chosen - especially that of the pushy Mrs Burton Cox! Altogether very enjoyable.

Elephants Can Remember is a brilliant adaptation of the book. The copy arrived on time and with good protective packaging which allowed it to be posted which for me is a big bonus. The story is well worth a listen I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

This is a dramatisation when I was looking for a reading but I didn't look carefully enough. It says its a dramatisation on it on the picture so it's entirely my own mistake. I've really enjoyed it because its very well done. I'm really glad I got it. Will deal with this seller again.
