If you enjoyed the TV programme, then this book is well worth reading. I found the diary entries tedious, but the book helps to confirm that although Amundsen was a race winner , Scott was not a loser. Amundsen was confirmed to be expert , single-minded,and lucky on the day; whilst Scott was complex , opinionated and swayed by Navy 'ways'; he and his faithful courageous men, unlucky with the weather, still achieved against unimaginable odds and deserving of utmost respect. Well worth the trip

I didn't watch the programme, but in enjoyed the book very much. There is alot of information on the original journey and the re-enactment, which is very easy to read. The only reason not five, some of the diary enteries are slighty long winded. A great book for anyone interested in polar exploration.
