If you've just moved into a house with a garden that has already been 'started', this is the book for you. Dealing with three standard gardens from a 1930's semi, an average rectangular garden and a small town terrace, it advises generally and step by step how to go about turning this space into your garden. Garden planning, suitable plants, how to rejunivate existing ones and ideas abound. It assumes that you have no cash left after buying the house and advises on professional help and equipment accordingly. After reading this book, you too will believe that you can do it!

I have owned this book for years and still find that I use it regularly. Having just moved to a new home with a part old garden, part field Geoff's words of wisdom will once more be invaluable. Straightforward no nonsense advice delivered as ever with an appreciation that most of us are on a budget. Just wish I could get a DVD of the series.
