4.0 out of 5 stars Good but no Rogue Squadron, 14 Jan. 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Wedge's Gamble (Star Wars X-Wing Book 2) (Paperback)
If the main selling point of a series named X-Wing is X-Wing fighters, then where are they? To my mind the original Rogue Squadron was good because it was a Star Wars version of the old Biggles books. This is an entirely ground-based, conspiracy theory book which does not grab me as much as the last one. Apart from this, it is still a fast paced, action packed book that will entertain any Star Wars fan who knows their stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!!!, 11 Aug. 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wedge's Gamble (Star Wars X-Wing Book 2) (Paperback)
This book is great and is full of nail bitting action. All the way through the book Michael A. Stackpole keeps you guessing 'who is the traitor to Rogue Squadron?'
When you find out, the auther does it in a great, way followed by a thrilling speeder bike race.
If you read this book you will be made to but the others, but it's worth it!!

Better than the first in the series, and argueably better than those that follow. You name it - its got it: action...well, I won't say any more because I don't want to spoil it!
There are few books in my collection that I have read so much, I mean, who wouldn't want to fly an X-wing if given the chance?

Well worth a read, I am a big fan of Star Wars so I do like to read a book or two from the franchise. I think the x wing series is good and I found this one a good read, kept me interested the whole way through. Is defiantly worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Again, brilliant, 4 Aug. 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Wedge's Gamble (Star Wars X-Wing Book 2) (Paperback)
Just like Rogue squadron, Wedge's Gamble keeps the action hot, the intrigue hotter, and never lets you get bored. I couldn't stop wondering who the traitor was, and I promise that it will be a surprise for all. Read this book, then read the other two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stackpole does it again!, 28 Aug. 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Wedge's Gamble (Star Wars X-Wing Book 2) (Paperback)
The second book in the series is great, like the first it's full of action, suspense and intrigue. I was kept guessing as to who the traitor was. One problem: are we supposed to believe Rogue Squadron is all it takes to conquer Coruscant?
