3.0 out of 5 stars Why Not the Best?: The First Fifty Years, 27 May 2011
WHY NOT THE BEST was written by former President Jimmy Carter's autobiography. Probably his first book after leaving office as Governor of Georgia in 1976. He graphically described his childhood, education, enlistment to US Marines where he was an officer. He was to marry Rosalyn Smith. His occupation after service was peanut farming where he also excelled.

He was also involved deeply religious faith as a Baptist, although some criticised him for taking religion too serious. He participated actively and drew inspiration there from and had much influence over his successes. Not left out were his children Jeff, Amy and James. The book was an opportunity to showcase his ambition and achievements in politics and his campaign for the White House.

He was emphatic in his belief and philosophy that only the best is good for America!
