5.0 out of 5 stars she is just great,
This review is from: Shopaholic Takes Manhattan (Summer Display Opportunity) (Paperback)i love any of sophie kinsella books! They are full of humour and after reading all the shopaholic books three times or more i feel becky bloomwood is a really amusing friend.
all her other books do not fail either .I have read them all more than once and still enjoy them - they are my comfort blanket!
my only moan is that sophie does not write books fast enough!
5.0 out of 5 stars Overall this was a really good book,
This review is from: Shopaholic Takes Manhattan (Mass Market Paperback)Becky and her boyfriend Luke are moving to New York so he can set up a new office there, and Becky's shopping gets out of hand again, creating disaster. It's not a complicated book at all. But that's not a bad thing -- this is a terrific book to curl up in bed with, or to take to the beach with you. I found myself laughing out loud a great deal more than the first. Becky's attempts to sneak in her purchases without anyone seeing are hilarious, and something I could relate to. Her experience at the wedding of an old family friend was also true to life (on a bigger scale, obviously -- you have to read it to understand). I thought Becky was much more well developed and I liked her a great deal more in this book. She still lies, but somehow her lies don't seem quite as awful. She has more confidence and she takes charge of her life more -- I really liked how she handled herself when everything fell apart. I like Luke, although he still could've used more depth. Overall this was a really good book that I think most women would enjoy.
5.0 out of 5 stars She's back!,
This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)Becky Bloomwood is back and this time she's in New York (think Prada, Barneys, Bloomingdales...) all a recipe for disaster in Becky's world. Becky has gone to the Big Apple with her boyfriend Luke and is staying at the Four Seasons while Luke tries to launch his business in the States. Becky has great intentions of sightseeing and getting herself a great job on American TV, but she still can't resist the lure of the shops!
I read this in one evening, I just couldn't put it down. I love these shopaholic books - they're just the dose of escapism I need after a long day at work. Enjoy!
5.0 out of 5 stars New York, here she comes!!!,
This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)I loved this book! It's witty and cleverly written, I laughed so much, especially with her "convenient" reasoning ways. This series is addictive and I sincerely hope Mrs. Kinsella will be able to come up with many more ideas for Becky's new adventures.
5.0 out of 5 stars shopaholics must buy,

This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)This is one of the best books I have ever read. It made me laugh out loud. I could not put it down. A shopaholic myself, I could identify with the character's reasoning behind her purchases. This title follows on nicely from Shopaholic gets Married. At least while you're reading it, you're not out shopping! Look forward to some of my own 'essential' purchases, never used, for sale on line soon. Happy reading .....
4.0 out of 5 stars Engrossed in the world of the shopaholic,
This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)As with the rest of the series this book is excellent and witty. As we travel with Becky to New York so does her shopping habit. She cant stay on a walking tour of the city for more than 10 minutes because of course Saks is of greater importance than some cathedral. Her trip to the geggenheim takes her no further than the museum store. As well as plenty of laughs, Sophie Kinsella's basic story telling pulls at the heart strings as Becky's world crumbles around her.
5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it!!,
This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)After reading the first installment in the shopaholic series, im hooked. I bought the next two books the day after! In this book, Becky is in New York- the home of shopping. For me- someone who also adores shopping and hasnt been to new york yet...this book has made me determined to go there. This book was funny, and sad too and i really sympathised with Becky. These books are such a good read, i could read them over and over again. Definitely not a waste of money. If you love shopping, you'll love this.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best book!!!!!,
This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)After reading the first book after my friend told me about it, I had to buy the second book! It was so good, and the great thing was sophie Kinsella didn't change the way she wrote in any way, it was like it was the same book, she didn't change the character. the only thing that frustrated me was when she said "something happened a few months ago" when it was clearly a year ago (looking at the letters). but anyway, that is hardly a complaint, it is one of the best book i've ever read. it's realistic and sometimes i want to scream at her and say "stop spending". BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!
4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent follow up,
This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)I loved the first book, and the second is just as good. This is no literary classic - just an amusing, cringe-making romp through the ups and downs of Becky's (rather complicated) life. Pure Chick-Lit.
Don't be put off if you have not read the first one, the story will still make sense, our heroine is kind and bright and just not very good at managing money (although she knows all the theory) and will keep you entertained.
4.0 out of 5 stars Shopholic hits the big shops!,

This review is from: Shopaholic Abroad (Paperback)A fantastic second book to the series. Becky Bloomwood goes to New York with her boyfriend Luke Brandon in order for him to start extend his business to the big apple! He convinces Becky that she will get a new job after her success on the television show 'Morning Coffee' giving people advice on their finances.
The job offers roll in for Becky and of course with so many interviews she needs to buy additions to her wardrobe.
Things don't go well for Becky however as the world she left back in England spoils things for her.
This book is sensational! It brings out so many different emotions... the main one being laughter! Especially at reading the letters from the banks mentioning broken legs, dead dogs, etc. These make you burst out with laughter at the thought of what Becky may have said to them.
