Now, I don't know what other people might think of the Maloreon and the Belgariad, but it defnitly belongs to my favorites. The characters old and new seem to come alife and suddendly you get to know how they feel and think. They certainly become your friends. It's one of the saddest moments, when you have to lay the book aside, because you've finished reading it. Even when the bikkering among the sorcerers doesn't seem to end. But thats simply part of its charm, no?

I've pressed this book on my family and friend to read and when the did they loved it...It has a brillent end with Polgara and C'Nedra...I would recomend this to any one who likes any science fiction books this is the best book of it's type.Keep writing David.

You wait for the last book in the series, read it and its like an old friend being lost.
This series is the best, Garion and his friends have kept me entertained for years and you can start from the first or second series all 10 books and the following side lines just prove that the Eddings now how to do it in style.
YOU MUST NOT MISS THESE BOOKS IF YOU ARE A SCI-FI FAN.

Fabulous. Any fan of Eddings, get this. My first Eddings was The Belgariad, that was superb. This book, part of the Mallorean follows on, is fabulous. Who cannot fail to fall in love with the characters, especially Belgarath and Polgara, they're so compelling to read. Once you start reading the Mallorean, you won't be able to finish. Well worth it!

What a disapointment. Don't get me wrong I love the work of David Eddings, but this series just gets weaker and weaker. No plot twists of note and highly predictable.I had guessed who what and where by the end of the second book and there were few if any supprises. Still it needs to be read just to round things off, just dont expect to be to engrosed

This book is seriously good and is a brilliant ending to the mallorean unfortunately the Mallorean was not as good as the Belgariad but the dialogue and characters werew still amazing, it's obviously well thought out. The ending of the book is good, but it suffered from the good and evil 50-50 chance of winning, that was done in the Belgariad.
