5.0 out of 5 stars Simply great!
This book contains a lot of fun grammar games suitable for elementary through advanced students. You can find some versions of popular board games such as UNO, Scattergories, Rummy, Chequers, tic tac toe, card games and other board games adapted to practice specific grammar points. All the games contain photocopiable masters and the illustrations are very nice. I have...

3.0 out of 5 stars Grammar made fun
I work with a lot of people who are quite advanced, and the traditional pedagogical methods of teaching are not appropriate at that stage. It was in this spirit that I bought this book. The description says "learners of all ages from elementary to advanced level", so I felt confident that it would cater for such an audience. Unfortunately, it is firmly aimed at learners...

I have already played some of the games with my students (teenagers and adults) and they have really enjoyed them! If you think grammar should be practiced in a fun way so that students stop thinking of it as horrifying and actually start loving it, this book is a must.

I work with a lot of people who are quite advanced, and the traditional pedagogical methods of teaching are not appropriate at that stage. It was in this spirit that I bought this book. The description says "learners of all ages from elementary to advanced level", so I felt confident that it would cater for such an audience. Unfortunately, it is firmly aimed at learners who are still at lower levels, and I have not been able to use it much with my higher-level students. Even the more advanced grammatical concepts are not framed in a way to which they could respond. It's also difficult to adapt the games to play on a one-on-one basis, with individual students. That said, it's a reasonable book for groups of pre-intermediate and intermediate learners, and for advanced learners who want to review some earlier grammar work in an interesting way.
