This review is from: Three Victorian Poets (Cambridge Literature) (Paperback)
This book is not about the lives of Tennyson, Browning and Barrett Browning but about giving the reader a small selection of each of their poems. This book was initially created for students studying English literature and is an anthology/collection of a small amount of poems. This book was required for my course as wider reading and the poems selected are quite representative of the topics and themes the poets wrote of in their full works which would make this book a good introduction.

However, the book fails to fully research the poets fully, leaving massive gaps in their lives which can only be filled with "guess work". I feel that the editor could have provided more detailed summaries of the poets, so as to enable the student to use them to help cultivate their own ideas of the poets/poems.
