Learnt the entire A level S1 course from it
on 25 May 2010
My teacher was absolutely atrocious and I learnt barley anything about Statistics 1 throughout the whole year. I purchased this book a few weeks before the final exam, and it only took me several hours of solid work to learn everything I needed to know for the exam. The result: a comfortable A! Not an excuse to use it as last-minute panic learning though. I wished I had bought it earlier in the course and worked through it at a more manageable pace, which is what I recommend.
Some of the text can occasionally be a bit long-winded and laborious, and can also seem daunting at times as the authors do tend to write quite a lot of content, but I see this as a positive; the explanations are clear and easy to follow, so when you actually get round to reading it all, it doesn't seem so bad.
There are also plenty of revision exercises with answers in the back for practise! Just one heads up though - I could never properly get my head around Permutations & Combinations so don't worry if this muddles you too!
