This is a wonderful and unusual bedside book and after about 1500 odd years it has been translated into English for the first time.

It is an encyclopaedia of all human knowledge grouped around the definitions of Latin and Greek words, joined together in sections such as Medicine, Warfare and so forth. It is interesting for dipping into, rather than reading from cover to cover. If you can read Greek letters it might be helpful, but not essential.
