An absolute gem of a book, big and heavy, something really tactile for a change. Once the cover is opened inspiration leaps from every page, whetting the whistle of any budding graffiti artist or typophile.
Ms Walde or MadC, as she is also known has done a wonderful job in collating these alphabets and deserves high praise for the work she has put in as well as the hard work put in by all the contributing artists.
Do yourself a favor and buy this book.

With certain graffiti books and magazines which shall definitely remain nameless, I can feel a bit short-changed sometimes. Not enough content for cover price. I can happily say that the opposite is true of Street Fonts. You get a lot of bang for your buck in this book. It also presents a very clear agenda and sticks to it throughout. Graffiti writers from all over the world offer up their alphabets in their own inimitable styles, some drawn, some graphic, some downright bizarre.

I rushed through it the first time around to see what the writers that I knew had created and then a second time, took more time to peruse the offerings of the guys of whom I knew nothing. One of the best things about this book is the wealth of lesser known but superb graf talent that it throws onto an international stage. Some of these guys really deserve to be repped far more than they have been. A lot don't even have personal websites but clearly possess amazing skills that require viewing.

All in all, Street Fonts is a triumph and a nice, thick, heavyweight triumph at that. It's a big book and you definitely won't feel like you've been taken to the cleaners.
If I'm being completely objective, my only quibble is the small introduction to the writers. Their biogs were tiny or non existent and the info that fans can get on writers is not to be underestimated. A bit more would go a lot further. Still, it didn't ruin my enjoyment of this excellent book.

This is a fabulous book and such a simple idea - Claudia (or MadC as she is known) contacted graffiti writers around the world to send her an alphabet in their own style. The result is a fabulous collection of different lettering styles and ideas - some sent photos from their previous pieces, others designed their own page and it's amazing how different each one is... There's also a useful insight into each artist as they tell the reader a bit about themselves. After I received the book from Amazon, I met MadC at a book launch in London (Pure Evil Gallery) and got her to sign my copy... for someone who does massive pieces, she was much shorter than I expected and she's a lovely lady who had time to chat to everyone there.

I got some funny looks reading the book on the train (I'm in my fifties!), but was so absorbed in studying it that it didn't bother me at all - I mentioned this to MadC and her reply is that you're never too old to look at letters...

Anyone who has the slightest interest in graffiti and street art needs to rush out now and get this book and make it a valuable addition to their book shelf (and no, I'm not MadC's agent - just a really big fan!).

I ordered this book for my son who is very interested in graffiti. The book looks and feels good. It is a hardback and the inner pages are made of good quality paper, the binding looks substantial , so I think it will last a while. The quality is not reflected by the price, I would expect this book to cost a lot more in the shops. The content is brill. It catalogues so many different styles. The artist behind each type face is also briefly introduced. I would highly recommend this book. I haven't been this happy with a purchase , for a long time.

bought this a christmas present for an 11 year old boy who is getting into graffiti drawing. hard back, very good size, and very thick. the pages are a good thickness and very colourful. on one side you have brief explanation of the artist and an example of their work, and on the other is the artists entire alphabet.

Superb book! I was expecting something half of the size of this and was surprised to see the size of it and the amount of pages. Over 150 pages of Graffiti alphabets. A really interesting read.
