I read Corbett and I was impressed. He was a product of his time but due to the nature of naval combat held some interesting views concerning lines of operations and communications. Corbett stated that lines of operations and ergo all lines of communications could be deconstructed down to the lowest tactical unit. If land operations weren't limited by terrain than land operations and sea operations would be no different. He used Clausewitz a great deal because of course Clausewitz was and is a Major influence on Western Military Strategy. I think he really used Sun Tzu because he said that Control of the Seas can only be attained for a short time and that mass can be formed at points for a short time.
