Hundreds of plates mainly of dresses in chronological order from 1860 to 1914, but including corsets, shoes, bonnets, hair, parasols, jewelry, fans and underwear. The dresses include morning, afternoon, evening and traveling. Also some wedding and mourning fashions as well. There are some children's clothes as well.
Wide range of events like a hunt meeting, touring, at the racetrack, visiting, balls, walking outfits, sports and meetings. There are a couple of mens costumes (with the emphasis on a couple).
Another very interesting fact included was the rough age of wearers and social status (especially for the children).
Including a glossary and a short introduction as well. Although there is no colour, the pictures have descriptions of the original colours and materials used. And because it is in black and white, it is fairly cheap (YESSSSSSSSSSS......cough. Anyway..).
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in old fashions and it is well worth the price. I picked it up cheap from one of the sellers, so that's even better!

years to come, the drawings are in black and white so mabye you could gently colour in the pictures with GOOD qulity artist pencils, good book for the money.
