Book binding is a lovely hobby, incorporating craft, artistry, design and technology ... and it demands patience and a thoughtful approach. It is mindfulness in action. Unfortunately, books about bookbinding all too often assume too much knowledge and skip over difficult but basic things like the weaver's knot, and precisely how to sew different projects. The photographs commonly used sometimes are difficult to follow since they do not highlight the key details. This book is different, in that it really does cover everything up to proper leather binding, case binding etc, with illustrations that are hand drawn and very easy to follow. There are many book binding books that purport to cover the basics of the craft of bookbinding in an easy-to-follow way. This actually delivers on the promise.
