5.0 out of 5 stars Simple but amazing tricks
This smallish book is filled to the brim with excellent but easy coin and bill magic. None of them rely on complicated sleights of hand but don't be fooled into thinking that means you won't get quality magic - the effects are often much better for it. There is some very creative thinking in this book. Within minutes you will performing really amazing tricks which your...

1.0 out of 5 stars 92 tricks you'll never do
I bought this book looking forward to learning some new magic in a field new to me. I was sadly dissapointed. The book just doesn't deliver. Most of the magic is more childish than table hopping, and some of the 'foolproof tricks' are actually just puzzles. Worse than that are the few entries in the book that are not magic tricks or puzzles but merely silly tit-bits...

1.0 out of 5 stars 92 tricks you'll never do, 12 April 2006
This review is from: Self-working Coin Magic: 92 Foolproof Tricks (Dover Magic Books) (Paperback)
I bought this book looking forward to learning some new magic in a field new to me. I was sadly dissapointed. The book just doesn't deliver. Most of the magic is more childish than table hopping, and some of the 'foolproof tricks' are actually just puzzles. Worse than that are the few entries in the book that are not magic tricks or puzzles but merely silly tit-bits of info, answers to brainteasers really, and all related to American currency.

This is one book that stays on my shelf and is simply collecting dust. I would advise customers to avoid this particular title and look further for coin magic.

Worth the money just to learn how to stick a pencil through a 10 note and leave no hole!

4.0 out of 5 stars Coins magic, 24 Feb 2011
This review is from: Self-working Coin Magic: 92 Foolproof Tricks (Dover Magic Books) (Paperback)
Apart from being American as are the coins used in the book, with a bit of application and imagination most of the tricks can be adapted for UK currency, or any currency I suppose. A bit more technical than self working table magic but worth the money and like all conjuring they all need practice to be convincing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fine for beginners, 20 July 2011
This review is from: Self-working Coin Magic: 92 Foolproof Tricks (Dover Magic Books) (Paperback)
A basic book for beginners who don't have time or skill to learn sleight of hand. The illustrations and descriptions are OK, but anyone seriously interested in learning real sleight of hand / card manipulations might find learning from a DVD easier.

1.0 out of 5 stars I recommend it unreservedly!, 13 Jan 2006
This review is from: Self-working Coin Magic: 92 Foolproof Tricks (Dover Magic Books) (Paperback)
What a waste of money! this book teaches you nothing but simple childish coin magic a toddler could figure out. Save your money and get the bible of coin magic: Modern Coin Magic by J.B Bobo

5.0 out of 5 stars Honesty is the best policy, 13 Nov 2007
This review is from: Self-working Coin Magic: 92 Foolproof Tricks (Dover Magic Books) (Paperback)
The bad reviews of this book are totally unjustified, you have to wonder if it has something with the gang mentality that exists (a gang of magicians, a gang of public school kids, a gang of politicians - all content to ignore right and wrong for their own ends). The book does what it says on the cover. I've been generous with the grading to try to counteract the other ludicrously unfair and dishonest reviews.
