3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but wordy!, 2 May 2004
This review is from: Mazes and Labyrinths: Their History and Development (Dover Children's Activity Books) (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book, but it was written originally in the 1920's and modern day readers should be aware that it is a bit wordy. The language and style of writing are very much of the time and as such it provides entertainment on two distinct levels. Firstly, as a guide to mazes and labyrinths, and secondly as an insight into 1920's England. It certainly has charm, and lots of details about the subject in question. Where is falls down somewhat is in the particularly wordy sections, which after a time read like a long and rather dry shopping list. Worth reading, but at times will test your patience.
