4.0 out of 5 stars good introduction to GIS, 8 Nov. 2009

The book was a good guidance for me as I took GIS at an undergraduate level at university. It provided a deeper knowledge and understanding of almost every aspect of GIS, in a broad perspective, and independent of software. I will recommend it for anyone new to GIS. THe 2001 edition is still good enough, you dont really need the new 2005 edition for learning about the GIS basics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps the best, certainly the most colourful, 25 July 2001

This review is from: Geographic Information Systems and Science (Paperback)
'A landmark in the evolution of GIS' is probably going too far (see back cover), but still the most up-to-date, student-friendly and comprehensive of the (too) many GIS texts available. Page 252 is particularly fine ...
