As a book its is just a basic starter on various schemas related to classical business areas such as HR, Sales etc.
I found this quite frustrating as to fully understand the models you will need to purchase the cd, which is not available, as the schemas given at the end of the book are not complete.

If you are looking for logical data models in specific business areas this provides a very good starting point. It covers a wide range of business areas: People & organisations,Products, Ordering products, Order Delivery & Invoicing, Work Effort, Accounting & Budgeting, HR. The data models include attribute defintions. For the 'data orientated' it provides an extremely quick way into the different areas. It has a couple of good star schemas for datawarehousing (covering sales analysis and HR analysis). [And if you don't like typing thre's even a CD which can be bought separately]
