4.0 out of 5 stars A primer that covers a lot of ground, 13 May 2007
This review is from: Financial Instrument Pricing Using C++ (Hardcover)
The book has a very practical approach, and is quite systematic and structured, giving a nice introduction to a lot of topics, from C++ to finite differences, UML and Excel interfacing.

Particularly the chapters on templates and STL are a nice, brief, no-nonsense intro to the topic, that I would heartily recommend.

Perhaps the book's only weakness is that in covering such a lot of ground, it inevitably is only able to skim a lot of the issues - but due to the book's clear structure, that does not lead to confusion; and the author's later books dwell on some of the issues in the detail they deserve.
