5.0 out of 5 stars Practical with many case study examples, 28 Mar 2011
This review is from: Supply Chain Management Best Practices (Wiley Best Practices) (Hardcover)
Blanchard's ability to write about Supply Chain Management in an easy and understable way is commendable. The book contains a wealth of information that enables deeper insight into SCM from all angles from the supplier's supplier to the customer's customers. Not only does Blanchard write in a straightforward and readable way, he captivated my attention by providing very good 'best practices' through case study examples from companies and organisations - both largescale and not so largescale. Each area of the supply chain is examined in length in each chapter. A lot of information I have researched indicates that SCM arised in the 1980's. I was delighted to read the history of SCM prior to this time, through Blanchard's explanation of Forrester's Bullwhip Effect. This book is one that will remain on my bookshelf for years to come.
