5.0 out of 5 stars A New Story Arc Begins!
I am always looking forward to a new book in this series! And of course this was no disappointment! There is going to be a break from Margiere after the breathless finale at the end of Child of a Dead God, as more characters get their turn centre stage. 1.0 out of 5 stars The demise of an otherwise good series
why, why, why would you start a new series focused on the single most annoying character in existence??!! Wynn should have died within a paragraph of her first being introduced in the previous series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A New Story Arc Begins!, 24 Jan. 2009
I am always looking forward to a new book in this series! And of course this was no disappointment! There is going to be a break from Margiere after the breathless finale at the end of Child of a Dead God, as more characters get their turn centre stage. Especially with the possible return of the Ancient Enemy!! Don't be upset at the lack of Leesil, Chap and Margiere, they will return.

So now we are with Wynn the sage, who has returned home to Calm Seatt, and the Guild of Sagecraft. With her were all the books with ancient writings from the castle in the Peaks, with all their references to undead and great battles in the Forgotten History. Sadly it seems the sages are none too happy with all this wealth of information, but why? Wynne is sidelined and excluded from anything to do with the texts, as the delicate translation continues without her. And no-one beleives her tales of Vampires and Undead! Well apart from a mysterious Suman sage and someone from the past......

But the plot thickens as things start to happen to people involved in the translations and making copies of them. Murder! Wynn is certain an Undead is in the city, but with all the sages thinking she is mad there is not a person to turn to....apart from the ambitious ciy guard Rodian.

This is exciting and will keep you hooked, packed with plenty of twists and suspects, and of course suprise appearances from old friends (or foes....) I look forward to the next installment, as this will be one big adventure for Wynn! This is enjoyable, interesting and not to mention addictive. If you are new to this, you need to start at the beginning with 'Dhampir.'

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I read through this so quickly! Although Wynne isn't my favourite character, I was happy at that she's manned up a bit more!
