5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best McGee's
Though it's not my favorite McGee novel, this one stuck in my head maybe more so than any other. Brilliantly written, descriptions that will take you to the swamp, and characters you won't soon forget. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Long Lavender Look
His later books are not as good as the first eight which I really enjoyed Too much pontificating and not enough action.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking Good Read!, 2 July 2014

The Travis McGee books just get better and better. I started with the first book in the series and each one has delivered.
John D Macdonald has a way of bringing his characters alive, I find it difficult to put the books down. Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Misogynist, 18 May 2014

Misogynist to the Nth degree. How come he's still in print? Where are you, o legions of the politically correct? How can you possibly have attacked a masterpiece like Huckleberry Finn so effectively, and yet you allow this tripe to remain on the market?

4.0 out of 5 stars Too much long winded description sometime I skipped up to 5 pages that had no relavance to the story, 17 Nov 2013

I love all of the Travis Mcgee books, I am up to number 13 love the story lines, but could do without the descriptive pages, 4 pages just to say the lady was wearing a top which suited her very well, or the sand was warm and the sky blue.
