This review is from: Building Comprehension: Crosswords, Mazes, Games, and More to Build Skills in Making Inferences, Using Context Clues, Comparing & Contrasting, (Best Practices in Action) (Paperback)
The idea behind this book is great but it's written for Grades 3 and 4 of the American market (years 4 and 5 here), which means different spelling and vocab. The learning objectives are different from ours but transfer reasonably well. Less able learners enjoy the crosswords, mazes, games and riddles as a change from the more usual types of comprehension question, particularly as many of them involve multiple choice, so it's a good support resource for inference, using context clues, prediction and identifying fact and opinion. It was, perhaps, rather over-priced.
