This contains two of the best children's short stories ever written -- Sweets and The Barber of Civil.

I can't recommend the book highly enough.

My daughter absolutely loves this collection of macabre tales for kids - she's ten by the way - and must have read it numerous times. Now out of print it's quite hard to find second-hand but is well worth it for those with a deliciously wicked sense of humour. The accompanying animated TV series wasn't quite as good, but this and its sequel 'More Grizzly tales for Gruesome Kids' are both suberb from start to finish.

The content of this programme is completely uneccessary for children, it is the first level of horror they will experience and it gave my child horrid thoughts that prevented him from sleeping. There are far better things to be watching than this garbage. It should never reach children.

Having seen the animation series and observing that is what based on this book and the others from the book series, i thought it best to investigate what had been changed and what remained the same. In some cases the story's were changed slightly some never even featured. If you can grab a copy it is well worth the read.

I would also like to thank the person who sold this item to me, the note inside was a wonderful surprise. Thank you.

I bought this book to read stories for Cubs Scouts (aged 8 to 10) around a camp fire.
I love these stories myself, they are short, funny, disgusting and great for kids (of all ages)

I would recommend this book
