This review is from: Demon Forged (Berkley Sensation) (Mass Market Paperback)
At sixteen-centuries old, Guardian Irena has seen and done it all. But four hundred years ago she met her new student Alejandro for the first time, and everything changed. Until the demon.

Alejandro will never forgive himself for the mistake that led Irena to bargain for his life, nor the separation that followed. But despite the torment and blows to his honour and pride, he loves her as much as ever. Now threats old and new are converging on the Guardians, forcing Irena and Alejandro to work together. But after four centuries apart can they become partners again? And once they stop fighting will they be left with nothing... or will they finally dare to fight for each other?

The fifth GUARDIAN book (Demon Angel, Demon Moon, Demon Night, Demon Bound) introduces Brook's strongest heroine yet. Irena is old, powerful and utterly uncompromising, but as she leaves her Russian tundra behind, she must learn to adapt to the twenty-first century world. Bold and brash, Irena is every bit the barbarian of her origins, but she is also loyal, passionate and brilliant.

Alejandro is an equally interesting hero, who compliments Irena in every way. He may not be as strong, but that doesn't make him meek. Subtle and cunning, he's the wily fox to Irena's rampaging bear, and the dance between them is hot in every possible way.

Equally as good is the continuation of the overall plot, with more about Michael, more from Jake, a return of Taylor and Preston, and a deeper continuation of this world in general. Beautifully developed and epically complicated, this book is a fiery, passionate addition to an excellent series. Truly one of the best in the genre.
