I've never completed a amazon review before but I thought I ought to start somewhere and as this book is unreviewed here may as well be as good a place as any.
Have no doubts about it, this is a dull and tedious book. It repeats itself often and the language is mostly technical jargon. Given that it is a textbook you might expect this anyway but I have read some wonderful textbooks in my time that thrill and engage the reader, making them think they are on the cutting edge of the field, this book leaves you feeling disappointed.
Ultimately its useful if you are studying in the field. It goes into far more detail than most other books and is relevant and up to date. Its worth making yourself slog through but I have no doubts you'll hate every minute of it and have to force yourself to read it. I did.
