I found it an inspired read...an approachable reference book.... illustrating that to do multi-sensory stimulation/work/activities that you....yourself....need a 'multi-sensed' approach.....as everyone is different and requires different treatments..different styles of rooms..different exposures

It underlines the importance.... of observation ....of continual assessment....of your own awareness.... and that constant adjustment and patience is paramount to maximise potential.

It emphasises something that I believe is crucial..but often overlooked... that in order to learn or to fully benefit from an experience you must first be receptive and ready- a 'relaxed-alertness'. its vital.

I am about just over half way through this book right now and I find it extremely interesting. As a teaching assistant it provides me with a deep insight into how children learn and how we can support children with sensory issues to move forward and make progress by tailoring the environment and teaching to their individual needs.

I have been most engaged by the part on care theory. This should be mandatory in all schools.

I feel that this book can help those working in education to support all children whether they have special needs or not. Fantastic book!

This book really is a must read for anyone wanting to make a difference to people with complex sensory needs. worked in learning disability for years and wish all of the staff I worked with had read this book. Really easy to read, factual without too much jargon. Lots of helpful examples and templates.
Highly recommend this book
