This is, quite simply, the best introduction to social theory I have read.
I will use it in my sociological theory course as the required reading, given its simplicity and style.
I have previously used Giddens, Seidman and others. But this is easily the best book by far.

This book is a fine introduction in contemporary social theory. In the introduction, he makes clear what currents and thinkers he deals with. This book is written clearly. It stimulates further reading.
