It's a good book which I used for my university course. The themes are selected well and interesting, showing how Britain has changed in recent years. Subject matter is not limited to England, unlike in many textbooks. It avoids the `typical' things (which often aren't typical at all), and show the variation.
The extracts are lively, giving a flavour of the authors and directors who are being discussed, and chapters on sport and newspapers of great interest and relevance.
However, more pictures would help. There are some, but I still think this is the best book about Britain in Amazon.
