5.0 out of 5 stars Required purchase for anyone working on cinema..., 28 Nov 2002

(No. 1 Hall OF FAME REVIEWER)
This review is from: Cinema Studies: The Key Concepts (Routledge Key Guides) (Paperback)
This book, in its fresh 2000 revised form, is even more indispensable than the previous incarnation and is both required reading and an obligatory purchase for anyone studying film. The book is wonderfully set out for those fresh to the medium and concise definitions are made- though the odd one (such as 'epic') may leave you scratching your head, for the most part it is brilliantly written and a great source of reference (and starting point). There is also a helpful bibliography of other sources to consult and at this price it would be rude not to own a copy- much better than overpriced books like Film Art. I think this, The Cinema Book & The Oxford Guide to Film Studies are the best books to start out with...

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Cinema Studies: The Key Concepts (Routledge Key Guides) (Paperback)
I used this book thorough my 'A' Level and Degree studies for Film & Television (yes, I know its a pointless subject)

If there is anything your unsure of or need some help clarifying- this is the book to get however in the age of Wikipedia its seems a bit redundant now...I did get this book back in 2004 :O)
