5.0 out of 5 stars 2014 50th Anniversary Edition, 24 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Entertaining Mr Sloane (Modern Classics) (Paperback)
Check that you're buying the right edition.

The 50th Anniversary Edition, which includes an introduction by Emma Parker, and interview with director Nick Bagnall, does NOT have a blue cover.

The 50th anniversary edition costs a bit more than the edition with the blue cover but contains a new, updated introduction that discusses production history, the 1968 TV and 1970 film adaptations, central themes, Orton's influence on other writers, and the continuing relevance of the play.

The introduction includes photos and previously unpublished material from the Joe Orton archive.

The interview offers insights into how to stage the play successfully and Nick Bagnall discusses his 2009 production starring Imelda Staunton and Matthew Horne.

Currently studying this as part of a design project for University on my course. Arrived promptly, the story itself is rather peculiar, but still a very interesting read. Would recommend.
