This review is from: Elinor (Paperback)
This is one of the comprehensive Grove Press issue of Victorian/Edwardian erotic literature that appeared in the eighties. Determination of the true date of writing in such cases would take some research, but even if these books were written in modern times they would still have the same appeal. `Elinor' is not perhaps the greatest of the series, but it nevertheless carries substantial charm. It concerns a young lady, just returned from India, where her intimate education, mostly with older women, was comprehensive, and it graphically described. Her Aunt in England is enthusiastic in her furtherance of Elinor's experiences, and she is eventually married to a young man who is content in his obedience. As with much of this genre, the activity tends to be somewhat episodic, and in this case mostly F/F, but this example is nevertheless charming.
