5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent resource!

1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and outdated
This is a reprinted paperback (printed by Amazon themselves at minimal cost!) and the quality is unacceptably poor - what presumably used to be coloured illustrations are reduced to blurred grey images - outrageously overpriced at £15.99!!

As a practicing internist in a busy New England city, I have found THE SEXUAL MALE to be an invaluable resource for both me and my patients. The authors provide succinct and easy to understand explanations for the vast majority of sexual dysfunctions encountered by the men in my practice. It candidly discusses a difficult topic that many men are uncomfortable discussing even in the confines of a physician's office. I often reccomend it to my patients. Many thanks to Drs Milsten and Slowinski for helping me better serve the men and women in my practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Both men and women will find this book readable & helpful., 29 Aug. 1999
By A Customer
As a therapist, I found this book to offer useful information and practical support to men and their partners on how to maintain a healthy & satisfying sex life. It is filled with up to date information from the medical side. But it also treats the emotional issues as well. Women will find new ways to understand why & how men experience sexual response. Read it to great benefit. It's an excellent resource.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book answers every sexual question I ever had, 11 Aug. 1999
By A Customer
Probably because both an MD and a Psychologist wrote this, you get every possible answer you could want. They tell you that you don't just swallow a pill and hope for the best. There's a lot you need to know- both mentally and physically- and this book is written so you can understand it. I really recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and outdated, 8 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Sexual Male: Problems and Solutions (Paperback)
This is a reprinted paperback (printed by Amazon themselves at minimal cost!) and the quality is unacceptably poor - what presumably used to be coloured illustrations are reduced to blurred grey images - outrageously overpriced at £15.99!!
The original was published in 1999, just a year after Viagra was first licensed - comment on this vital development is pretty much limited to quoting from the manufacturer's declared research results. The internet didn't really exist then, so it doesn't even get listed in the Index - the book is limited to passing comment on 'adult magazines'.
At best this book is of historical interest - a serious study of it's time, not in tune with today!

I learned a lot about how to be more supportive to my partner. There is also good information about things you can do to try and prevent problems before they happen.

The reader found this book well-documented and it deals sympathetically with a sensitive area of men's health. This publication ought to be read by professionals involved in this field as well as interested members of the public.
