4.0 out of 5 stars Great, narrative-like reading of psychological history., 12 Sep 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Story of Psychology (Paperback)
This book of the history of psychology is used in many history, theory and systems classes, and even as a basis for some state licensure exams. It reads like a novel, making the reading interesting. My main compliant is that it should not be used as a text book because it is not clear-cut, does not define terminology clearly, and is not layed out like a text book. Though it makes for interesting reading, it is not a book that is easy to learn from in a class setting because of it's lay-out and the authors unique style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Personalizes Psychology to an enjoyable end, 29 Jan 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Story of Psychology (Paperback)
One word separates this book from a regular Psychology text -- context. If most psychologists conduct research into things that are 'close to home,' then it's that very context that sheds light into why we even have the study of Psychology to begin with. A definite once-read-through for all students of the human mind.
