5.0 out of 5 stars Dirty doings at Deir el Bahri, 20 May 2008

This review is from: A Place of Darkness (Mass Market Paperback)
The reason I like Lauren Haney's books is that she knows her history as well as being a darned good mystery writer. I am so fed up with being introduced to camels crossing the desert, when they weren't introduced to Egypt till much later. Haney doesn't make this kind of silly mistake. She obviously loves Egypt and it shows.
In this novel, Lt. Bak is asked to find out who (or what) has been sabotaging the building of Hatshepsut's new mortuary temple, known to us as Deir el Bahri and to Bak as Djesu Djeseru. Co-incidentally, he is also trying to find out who stole jewels from an ancient Royal tomb.
