4.0 out of 5 stars A well written romance set in Regency times, 14 Sep 2004
This review is from: Meet Me at Midnight (Avon Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Our heroine is Victoria Fontaine nicknamed 'Vixen' she is mischievous, intelligent and pushes the limits without causing too much of a scandal until she meets Sinclair Grafon Lord Althorpe (nicknamed Lord Sin) for within minutes of meeting they are seen by the ton (including Vixen's father) kissing. Victoria's father insists that Sin do the honourable thing (much to Victoria's disgust) and they are duly married.
The hero Sin is the 2nd son he went to France and everyone thinks that he is a wastrel who should have fought for king and country some even wonder if he was on Napoleons side!
His older brother was murdered 2 years ago (Sin thinks it's because he was the only one who knew that Sin was a spy) and now he is finally back to find the murderer. He has reason to believe that the murderer is one of the young men who make up Vixens following.
Sin was a spy in France (this is not giving away the plot as you learn this early on) and so puts his resources and brains to the task of finding his brothers killer, unfortunately the case is too close to home and this means he is not as careful as he should be around his very intelligent bride (whom he underestimates to start with).
This is a very good book and well written as you would expect of Suzanne Enoch my only grumble is that if Sin's brother was so anti-French why did he stock brandy? Must have been old stock!
If you like Julia Quinn or Victoria Alexander you should definitely like this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A reasonable read, 14 Nov 2000

Generally, it is a good book. The storyline was okay not a keeper, nevertheless readable. For a guy who is supposed to be a brilliant spy, he seemed very easily found out. Perhaps it is the power of love but i thought the author could have left Vix guessing a bit more. if you like Enoch, it won't be a disappointment.
