4.0 out of 5 stars A fine tribute and an interesting review of the practice from some experienced students, 24 Feb 2012
This review is from: Guruji (Hardcover)
The book is largely in interview format and covers some fascinating insights from Guruji's western practitioners. Two main perspectives are offered - a rememberance of Sri K Patthabi Jois, and some ideas around what the practice offered o the most experienced students and now teachers of the method. Some of these ideas are deeply inspiring - I found Dena Kingsberg's chapter quite moving and inspiring, there is clearly a rigour to her practice and its interesting to see what that can yield. Of course not all voices who studied with Jois are present, and I felt some sense of irony that as well loved and known as Guruji is and was - there is something still unknowable and unknown about this method and this man. Perhaps that mystery is the very point.

Overall, I have found this book inspiring as a well intentioned, loose sketch of what it means for these practitioners to have had a Guru, and what the possibilities are of his teaching now.
