I'm a recent convert to Nora Roberts and the stories about the McKade brothers are wonderful. These books are about strong men and even stronger women. Following on from the stories about Rafe and Jared, the stories of Devin and Shane are definitely better and allow you to get a glimpse of the other brothers after their stories ended. Devin's story is the best of the four - he's been in love with a woman, abused by her husband, for most of his life and now its his turn to let her know. Shane, who loves women and who women love, finds his one woman.
Recommended....a great summer read.

Nora did the MacKade brothers about 10 years ago for Silhouette Intimate Moments. So check your Nora shelves if you keep her. You likely already have these. If you don't they are not Nora at her best, but they are very enjoyable tales of four sexy lady killers who fight love and romance until the right lady comes along. These puts two of the tales under one cover.
The first tale deals with Devin, the patient, long suffering sheriff who must watch the woman he loves going through a bad marriage. Now that Cassie Conner was free, Devin decides to make his move, but knows it will be with gentle steps. (Silhouette Intimate Moments - The Heart of Devin)
Shane was the youngest MacKade brother (Silhouette Intimate Moments - The Fall of Shane MacKade. He is the MacKade that loved to stay on the land. So he finds it odd he risks his heart for a lady more interested in academics.
They are pleasant tales, perfect for a rainy fall afternoon.

If you love charming rogues; then these are the brothers for you. Devin and Shane are the younger of the 'bad-boy' quartet; and the most charming. Devin (my personal fave) is the sherrif of the the small town, and in love with Cassie since high school; feeling unable to defend her against an abusive husband, he is the friend she turns to and falls for (but not in a 'sappy' way). Shane is the baby of the boys, and the most alarming charming and seductive to all women and he finds himself at the mercy of his complete opposite. All the characters are strong and very well described. Close your eyes and you can see and hear them. The interaction between the brothers is visual and laugh-out infectious. Enjoy the younger brothers, they are just as charming and loveable as Rafe and Jared. When you ladies have finished with Devin - please may I have him back??!!

Well, what can be said about the two brothers in this book. Devin, the very sexy and kind sheriff. Shane, the youngest of the four brothers (Rafe and Jared in book 1), is a very sexy farmer/rancher! Both the heroes in this book, one story for each brother, are out of this world really! Wish there were such absolutely, perfect men around for us normal folk! Anyway, do get the two books about the four brothers, they are all very entertaining, there's also a few ghosts about.............All in all, I liked these books Nora Roberts has written, I will definitely buy other books by this author.

I am a big Nora Roberts fan and i was not dissapointed by this title or "Rafe and Jared: the Mackade brothers". The characters personalities are very similar to those in the "chesapeake bay quartet" however this does not change my opinion in the slightest. It has very moving love stories and very good plot lines. read it!
